Isn’t it comical that whenever Roscommon or a county at their level take down a team ranked above them that it is almost always because the other team cocked up in some way or other. Roscommon had never beaten Tyrone (AI champs in 2021) in the championship in 6 previous attempts. Okay Tyrone were poor in the 1st half as Roscommon played without fear and were clinical up front. But Tyrone were a different animal after HT and came at Roscommon in waves getting it back to 1 point. The way Roscommon faced down that onslaught up in Omagh and didn’t concede a goal and still be able to stay ahead of their opponents and create 5 points of their own including an outstanding final point by Daire Cregg deserves great credit. Did The Rossie defenders not have anything to do with keeping the much vaunted star forwards of Tyrone (2 Canavans and Dazzler) to 3 points from play in their own back yard, or Roscommon’s win not have anything to do with their front 3 popping over 11 points from play between them. A bit of balance would be nice. Okay it’s advantage Armagh this weekend, they are a fine team, very difficult to beat, the pain of several QF exits to draw on, and with a 2 week rest under their belt but Roscommon are here on merit, just like Armagh Louth and Derry, and when they put their mind to it have plenty of class and resilience themselves and should be given due credit when they play well and beat a so called ‘better team’ and not be told that the other team shoulda, woulda or coulda won if only for this, that or the other.

For 36 minutes against Serbia we had good possession except we only attacked once with Saka who then crossed and we scored. If we had attacked and crossed more we would have scored 3 or 4 goals. Except we need a left winger so Gordon. Or swoop Saka on the left and Foden on the right. It was only the group matches, so it's not how you start, it's how you finish .
